Instructor Biography

John Robinson began his Martial Arts training at a very young age studying Shotokan. After a few years he grew tired of the training and tried his hand at a number of other arts including Judo and Thai Boxing.

After a period of being disappointed by the arts he tried, John was invited to train at a Bujinkan Dojo in the North West of England. As a result of the differences he found between Budo Taijutsu and the styles he had previously practised, John became hooked on this new art.
It was at this Dojo that he met John Anderson and Steve Greenfield, who had been invited by his instructor at that time to demonstrate Jinenkan training. As a result of this training session, John was impressed by structured training and techniques found in the Jinenkan.
Shortly afterwards, John attended a seminar in South Wales taught by Manaka Sensei and this led to him deciding the path of his future training. He later became a Jinenkan member and began to study under John Anderson and Steve Greenfield which involved regular journeys to South Wales for Seminars, weekly classes, and private training with the two Dojo Cho.
John continued to broaden his training by attending seminars around Europe with Manaka Sensei, and other Dojo Cho. At a seminar in Switzerland during November 2005, John successfully took the test for Sandan under Manaka Sensei and shortly afterwards was allowed to open his own Jinenkan Dojo, the Ei Shin Dojo, which is the first in England.
John continues to train with John and Steve in South Wales and with any other Jinenkan instructors when the opportunity arises.
