Traditional Japanese Weaponry
Techniques using traditional weapons are studied at our adult classes as a matter of course. We also hold a weekly training session devoted entirely to the study of weapons. The majority of the training at these weapons classes is in Biken-jutsu (sword techniques) and Bo-jutsu (stick fighting techniques). In addition, we also study other weapons including the Tanto (knife), Yari (spear) , Naginata (halberd), Kusarifundo (weighted chain), Jutte (iron truncheon), Shuriken (throwing blades) and others. Our weapons class is open to all adults, regardless of their previous martial arts experience and beginners are always welcomed. This is an unique opportunity to study authentic Samurai era weapons techniques in South Wales. Students can join this class in addition to our other training or they can take part in these weapons classes on their own.
